THE FUNERAL

Today was Gladys's Funeral.

Of course I put up the pictures in the wrong order. I believe is was a tribute befitting of Gladys and the good works that she did during her life.

The service was about a half hour long with a couple of songs. Twenty six people came to her funeral. Did I mention that the funeral home had the thermostat sat at 69 degrees, my kinda place. The temperature was 104 degrees of hot.

Gladys Obituary

This obituary was in todays Sacramento Bee, and the Roseville Press Tribune, also will be in the Auburn Journal tomorrow and also the Sac Bee tomorrow. Monday is the funeral at 10:00am. I took this picture of Gladys sitting on her couch with her dog Midnight sitting next to her. It is a good picture of her and it shows her before she went downhill with the Diabetes. Isabelle you would be pround of me, I actually used the scanner on my printer, fax, scanner machine. Then I went over to JCPenney's to get her a nice outfit to wear. I was good to make sure it didn't clash with the pink interior of the casket. I wanted to put her in a nice dress, but because of her leg amputation, I settled on a very feminine pant suit in grey with a burgandy blouse. The clothes in her closest didn't look good enough for her last outfit. Then after Donna approved them I had to run them over to the funeral home. I am working on getting a large picture of her to display at the funeral. Gladys didn't want an open casket or a viewing. I guess the next best thing is a huge picture of her sitting on an easle next to the casket. But do you go with newer pictures or older pictures that is the question? I think a better tribute would be a collection of her blankets, but I don't know how that would go down with the people at the funeral home. Kinda cute though don't you think!

CHERRIES Yummy Cherries!

Last Saturday Nick, Logan, Donna and Myself went over to Jim & Fran Murphy's house to pick Bing Cherries off his tree. The boys picked 16 good sized containers of cherries. The cherries are just right not too soft and not too hard. Donna and I are canning them up today in small pint sized containers. Should be a total of 10 pints and 2 half pints! Winter tidbits, and some fresh cherries to eat. We also will give back half to the Murphy's as a "thank you" for the cherries!
