Gladys Update

Gladys was taken in to Kaiser hospital last Sunday because of her Diabetes. Her toes on her left foot turned black and needed to be treated. The doctor performed an amputation about half way down passed her knee! She has been having a hard time recovering with all the pain and the loss of her mobility. When you go to see her in the hospital she is usually asleep. Donna allowed me to snap this picture when I was there today. She has been at the hospital for a week, and the next stop is a convalescent home.

You Know Your Stressed When...

I went to the bathroom at work yesterday, and in my hussle to get my business done, and be out of the way for the next teacher, I didn't notice that I left the bathroom with tp hanging out from my pants. I was mortified when a male colleague of mine had to help me notice my problem!

This is a true story, that made me feel totally embarrassed.

I hope whomever reads this gets a good laugh..

By the way, the Carriage Drive house is up for sale they are asking for $159,900.

Winter Rain is Coming Down

Winter is in full swing here in Sacramento. This January has been very blustery with the two straight weeks of heavy fog followed by last week and this weeks crazy winter storms. Heavy rain, strong winds, luckily no power outages as of yet. I am glad that it isn't crazy cold and snowy like in other parts of the country. On the bright side I am forced to stay home and clean around the house, do laundry and also work on school paperwork!

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2010

GREETINGS,

I can't believe that another year has sailed right on by, they come and go so quickly! I was trying to think of the highlights of 2009 and I thought of a couple:

* Sadie (new little puppy)
* New Pickup Truck
* Going on a vacation to see Mt. Rushmore, and the Badlands
* Losing Ms. Lily, Hershey, Jesse all over the summer :>(
* Gaining Adelaide :>)
* Having two wonderfully charming classes of students in a row!
* A good Pear harvest and a somewhat average crop of Walnut harvest.
* Getting together with family for Heather's wedding in May

That is all I could think of for right now so I guess I should load up a couple of pictures!! This is Sadie with a cone on her head after she was spayed two days ago. Also Donna bought this Nash RV a couple of weeks ago, this RV should be a lot of fun in twenty ten!!!!

Crazy Cool Christmas Card

I have a friend at the grange in Auburn, and I discovered his address, so I sent him a Christmas card as a surprise. This is what I got in return...This is a handmade Christmas card, pretty cool don't you think. I wish I had this kind of artistic talent. Inside the card it reads, Merry Christmas! Doesn't this remind you of George's talents?
I wonder why the blue bulb has an eye looking out at the world.. Perhaps it represents God watching over us all?

Kitchen Aid Mixer's Maiden Voyage

So I decided that this Christmas I would just do it! I would buy myself that gift that I have wanted for soooo long. It is a kitchen aid mixer, in a cool color! QVC had them on sale last week for a really good price, with a pretty good color selection. I thought that Cinnamon Gloss was so much nicer than fire engine red. You know that these mixers come in so many cool colors, I have always liked Pink, then Chrome, then Copper, and the have some nice light blue and light green colors also! It came in the mail pretty quick I really didn't expect it until Wednesday the 25th. I opened up the box this morning and decided that I had to make something. Toll House Cookies was the maiden voyage for my new mixer! Yipee!
