Here is the fabric that I bought last September when I was in Los Angeles. I have been wanting to make a lightweight quilt for some time now. I decided to start small with a two yard limit, and and nice cotton fabric.
After a couple of hours of cutting out the fabric, matching up the sides, and sewing the three layers together, I was down to putting on the satin blanket binding. This is the stuff that everybody loves to feel on a nice blanket. I choose the color white because I thought it would look the best with the small two inch blue square side of the blanket.

This is my new little Singer sewing machine that I bought back in May at Sears in Santa Monica. It is a great little machine. Threading and filling up the bobbin are not that hard to do on this model. Don't you just love the fact that Singer went back and curved up the body of this machine in an homage to the Singer machines of yesteryear.. Did you notice the little white cup next to my sewing machine.. That is to catch the pins that I pulled out of the quilt as I was sewing.

I started the process of assembling this quilt many times, but last night I was feeling the need to be creative and pull this quilt together. I started working on it around 7:00 PM and was done by 11:00 PM. I did make a small mistake on one of the bindings at the very end of the project. The last thing that needs to be done on this quilt is placing a few yarn ties throughout the body of the blanket to hold the materials together especially after washing.

Gosh! That didn't take too long to get all sewed up! Looks great! Makes me want to sew...
I'm totally impressed. You made something that people don't know how to make. You we're totally creative! I did notice the sewing machine was vintage-looking. I thought that was cool also.
that is so cool! i'm jealous of your crafting skills. i don't have very much patience for sewing. in fact, i started to make a denim skirt when i first moved here...its still in pieces... lol. your quilt looks awesome! way to go!
